interior exhaust smell?
How does smoke fumes get into car with hole in pipe underneath, and driving down road with windows shut and sealed against rubber seals?I thought the draft under car during movement would draw away the smog. Cough cough phew in '91 geo Metro

Re: interior exhaust smell?
Sounds like you've got a leak in the exhaust under the car and a hole in the floor. Not unheard of in a 91. When I got rid of my 88, it hardly had any floor left.

Yep. Time to change out the muffler or exhaust pipe. Crawl under there with a flashlight and see what is rusted and replace it.
If you have floorboard rusted through then you have some serious problems. Only way to fix that is to cut out the rust area to clean floorboard and then weld in a new piece of flooring. Goodluck.

Re: interior exhaust smell?
Mine was doing the same thing. Last week when I had it inspected they noticed the leak in an exhaust pipe joint and welded it close. Car just doesn't smell right without the fumes... geojim
