ODB II code 201 through 207

2000 Grand Cherokee 4.7L

The mechanic says he thinks the PCM is defective. I was looking at an engine wiring diagram and noticed that something called an evaporative system leak detection pump circuit ties across injectors 1 through 7 ( but not injector 8).
If there was a fault in the evaporative emission control system, say a vacuum leak for instance, would this cause the injectors to throw these codes? The coincidence that codes stored for injectors 1 through 7, and this circuit only ties across injectors 1 through 7 has me wondering.
It'd be nice not to have to replace the very $$$$ PCM, particularly if it was a split hose.
