dome light out after air bag recall

I don't know if it is related or not, but I had my 1997 Escort in for the recall on the Air Bag Diagnostic Monitor last Thursday and since then my dome light does not come on with the doors opening or the remote key fob. It does come on manually with the switch, and the map lights work. I returned to the Dealership today to see if this recall repair was electrical and they might have snipped a wire or something, but the service person said everything they did was under the hood by the radiator by unplugging a couple things and plugging them back in. This now leads me to wonder why they needed it for half a day just for that. Any ideas on what may be causing my door switches and key fob not to turn on the dome light?
