Whats the difference between a sentra GXE and an SE-R and what mods can I add to the sentra to make it like an SE-r

the main difference is the engine. the older boxy B13 sentra's had a single cam 1.6 liter making almost no power, and its very brittle to boost so no one ever bothers to hook those up. the SE-R's for those gen's ran on the SR20DE which was a 2.0 liter that can rev to 7.5K and has 140hp with a limited slip differential int he front. those cars can keep up with B16A powered civics. the engine is also built extremely rugged, and can handle boost really well. even with the high compression pistons, it can handle around 400hp before breaking. or you can just swap in a japanese SR20DET turbo 2.0 engine which can handle over 500hp and its just a turbo, and fuel managment system upgrade away.

the newer B15 sentra's came with a 1.8 liter 4 banger, its still weak, the SE-R's came with the QR25DE which is a 2.5 liter 4 banger that makes great tq but can't rev very high. but it has tons of potential from bolt ons. you can gain up to 30whp from intake, headers, exhuast, and removing the balancing shafts. these things are rated at 175hp and they can run low 15's stock.
