Lesabre's Transmission High Gear Doesn't Shift

the problem started after I replaced the throttle position sensor connector (plug)on my 92 buick lesabre bcz the idle wasn't stable and sometime very higH aroud 30k rmp.
I replaced the trainy bcz it was bad with a salvaged one and the 4th gear still doesn't shift. The mechanic who installed the the transmission did a diagnosis and, and it red " throttle position sensor tow low".
I'd like to know if mess up some thing like the computer or the plug was the wrong one.
I really need help bcz the first transmission stoped shifting right after that connector change and now the 2nd one is doing the same.

When you took your car to the mechanic, did you say change my xmission or fix that fact that it doesn't shift?

I replaced the old transmission wich was bad anyway with a used rebuilt. The problem started right after i myself changed the the TPS connector (plug).

Let me see if I have this in order:

1. You replaced the plug on the TPS

2. Transmission doesn't go into 4th gear

3. Transmission goes bad

4. Replaced transmission with another one, problem still exists

I just want to make sure that this is right before I start spouting off ideas!

Jonathan.
The transmission was already bad but was going into 4th gear.
I replaced the TPS plug with a used on from the junk yard and transmission stoped going into 4th.
Changed transmission with a salvaged one by a transmission specialist and probem still exist.
I did the transmission diagnosis and the result was TPS too low.
My questions is how the TPS is related to the transmission and how can it be solved.
I hope i gave you a good explanation.
Thanks.

Yes, it is making more sense now.

The only thing I can guess is that somehow the TPS is now reporting that the throttle is open by too much. When you are cruising down the highway and press on the accelerator, the transmission downshifts from 4th to 3rd to allow you to better accelerate. Since the transmission is electronically controlled, that is probably what is going on. The TPS says "whoops, the throttle is too far open to shift into 4th. Oldysabre must want to keep accelerating". At least that's my hypothesis.

Now why it happened once you changed the TPS plug is beyond me. I think it's a safe assumption that you reconnected the wires correctly. Did you get the plug from another '92 LeSabre? In my experience, if it's from a different year or a different model, it might not work (even though it's still an L27 3800 engine).
