i think you can...
i use to have 98 firebird auto.. v6.. it was nice looking car but not fast. i have bitten 95-97(not sure on the year) carmero v6 on my 01 max auto. i think he had auto too but i also had passanger. so i think you should have fair chance. good luck

ive beaten mustang v6s and they only got like 20 less hp than a camaro v6 so u should be able to take him

very few n/a american 6 cylinder engines'll beat a maxima.
i even raced a gt mustang and ate him off the line, once we hit like 110+ he pulled ahead i guarantee your maxima is at least 400lbs lighter than his heavy ass GM if i were you i'd put money on the maxima

You should be able to beat him very easily. A 4th gen 5spd Max (My brother's 95 for example) should be able to take a 94-98 GT Mustang, much less a V-6 Camaro.

I saw a Camaro V6 (auto I beleive) and a 4th gen 5-speed race the other night at the local 1/8 track. The Max. was stock (K+N drop-in) and the Camaro had a custom CAI. The Camaro just barely won.

I raced a Camaro the other weekend and at first he was ahead for about 20 seconds then I pulled ahead and the Camaro was not stock. When he pulled up beside me at the next light his mouth dropped when I asked him was his car stocked and he said not at all and I told him mine was and its an automatic. So even with an auto if you get your launch off good and stay on it you would kill the Camaro easy.
