Sagging headliner
It seems to me that sagging headliners is a Cherokee thing. I see a lot of 'em with the headliner hanging down bopping the driver's head. So pulled ours out, glued it, used good quality spray adhesive, etc., put it back in, looked great. For about two months. Now it's sagging again. So what's up with this? Any suggestions on how to get a permanent fix short of pulling it out entirely and driving around in an echo chamber?

Re: Sagging headliner
Yep. You CANNOT reglue the headliner material back. Foam backing is gone. Just replace it.
Take out the headliner board. Go to JoAnn Fabrics and get the headliner material - they have the OEM gray that matches perfectly(I paid $38.00). Get a can of 3M Spray ADhesive. Then follow the directions: HERE |

Re: Sagging headliner
The site WLS Headliners has a guide to removing and recovering the jeep cherokee headliner, they also sell kits to replace the headliner in the cherokee, comes with the right kind of adhesive
you can see the installation here -- http://www.wlsheadliners.com/tutoria...headliner.html |

Re: Sagging headliner
Are you looking for "form" or "function"? You can always use straight pins and pin the sagging areas up to keep them off your head. Works fine, looks terrible (IMO). Others have used those button tuft pins like you see on upholstery.
Or you can gently, pull all of the fabric down, leaving the fiberglass backer up. Use a good brush and a vacuum to clean the old foam off. Be careful not to damage the backer too badly. Works fine, looks even worse than hell. I did this and ran with it for over 3 years. Finally, I did what the others posted. Went to Joanne's. Got enough fabric real cheap. Bought some good adhesive (it's labeled as Headliner adhesive), and relined it. Had enough material to do the visors as well. Now, it look great!

GMC_93td welcome to AF, please pay attention to the posting dates before posting a reply as generally threads over 6 months old have usually been resolved and especially ones that are almost 3 years old have been fixed or forgotten.
