Model difference?

I'm after another accord, my baby died... Anyhow, I need to know if their is any major difference between the LX, and EX (90-93) body styles. I'm not worried about performance, because I'm going to swap the motors anyhow, but I do need to know if the body looks different. I would really like a 92 ex, so if any one is out to sell one, let me know.

Re: Model difference?

I think they are basically the same. I had a 90EX and my friend had a 92 or 93 LX, seemed to have identical bodies from what I remember...I don't actually recall if his was 2 or 4 door though, and I don't think he had the sunroof

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: Model difference?

lx has discs in the front and drums in the rear, and ex has discs all the way around, most ex's have sunroofs, rear spoilers, and very rarely you will find an ex with leather. but other than that they are the same!

Re: Model difference?

EX also has body colored door guards...LX has black rubber guards...
EX comes with Alloy wheels (standard), LX is optional...
EX has 4 wheel disc brakes, but LX has disc and drum combination...
EX has VTEC...

Re: Model difference?

And I guess my '93 EX with leather (but no spoiler, thought it DOES have "THE GOLD PACKAGE" -- trashy-looking gold trim in places) is rare!

Re: Model difference?

I know how the engines vary from year to year in the fourth gens. I just need to know if there was any major shape difference in the body. I work in a body shop, so color isn't a big deal. Thanks for the help guys.

Everything you said was correct with the exception of the EX having VTEC. VTEC was introduced to the Accord starting with the 5th generation (94-97) and was only vailable to the EX 4cyl models only.

90-91 Accord LX 125hp, EX 130hp
92-93 Accord LX 125hp, EX 140hp
Therefore I thought the 4th gen had VTEC, my bad...
