Speedometer cable and tranny help needed

I have an 85 C10 that has the 3 speed column converted to a floor shifter. My problem is I replaced the sppedometer cable, and the linkage from the shifter is in the way of the speedometer cable connection on the side of the tranny...I cant be the 1st person this has happend to...so..doens anybody have any ideas how the get around this?

i bet they sell kits to relocate the speedometer cable, since i know for a fact that those things dont just bend any which way you want them to, like an electric cord would...
