Hard Starting
What are some reasons for hard starts? My 99 Rodeo V6 cranks excessively. It seems to be getting worse. Weird thing is, some days it will do it every time I go to start it. Then it will be fine for days. I really do not know where to look. I do not want to replace the battery if it is something else. Within the past several months I have replaced the IMG's, fuel and air filter, cleaned the EGR and throttle body, changed the PCV, changed the spark plugs, changed an O2 sensor and I run gas treatment every few months.
Thanks, Marc |

Do you turn the key to the one position, wait 5 seconds (for the fuel pump to prime the system) and then start it? If so then it could be a bad fuel pressor regulator.

Re: Hard Starting
Ryan I checked the link you put up and I don't seem to have all those symptoms. It just cranks a real long time sometimes. Others it is fine. I will keep an eye on it though.
Thanks, Marc |
