Tachometer installation in a 2001 Venture

Hello guys;

I'd like to install a tachometer in my 2001 Venture. The installation intructions provided with the tachometer, does not provide any clue on which wires to use. Does anyone here has ever installed a tach in a Venture? Any help appreciated.

Yves.

Re: Tachometer installation in a 2001 Venture

I have the same question, but for a 2002 Venture with a 3.4 V6. I have the Sunpro CP7558 tach adapter that is required for DIS ignitions.

I'm not sure if i just need to break the Pink + wire on the lead to the coil pack and connect the 2 wires from the adapter. There are 3 on it, Black, Red, and the Green which goes to the Tach itself.

Any help appreciated.

Re: Tachometer installation in a 2001 Venture

I have a '99 Venture that is in need of a 5" tachometer and shift light. Surely someone out there hot-rods their mini-van, too, and has installed one...?

Not that I have done a bunch of research or anything, but ain't it a matter of splicing in to factory tach. wire, wiring a good ground, and wiring the tach. with the factory gauge lights to come on when they do?

Thanks
