Camaro Update:

with the summer months fast approching I decided to throw the supra in the garage and finish up my Camaro.. For those wondering, I finally got my new wheels wrapped last week.. Cooper Zeon 2XS 275/40-17's on all four corners..

These are some shitty pictures but I threw em' together at night before I left for home.. I'll get some better pictures this week in the daylight after I get the car polished..

Here you can kindof see the massive 3" aluminum spacer i used to get the 17" Z06 wheels to work with the 0mm offset

It'l take a little work yet to get my full turning radius back and an alignment but nothing too complicated.. Also, finished my stereo install (pics coming soon) put my new leather steering wheel in, fixed a few minor problems with my gauges, and im having the seats re-covered soon.. The engine will be a late summer project (hoping to go 383TPI) depending on the funds..

Re: Camaro Update:

Maybe it's just the angle of the pics, or lighting for that matter, but the fenders seem to be a lttle "under fed". Nuce tho.

Re: Camaro Update:

Been really busy with work and vehicles and whatnot..

What do you mean by under fed? I know that the rims/tires stick out a little farther than I wanted them too, but it still looks good.. Im also dropping it to fill the wheel wells a little bit.. the pics dont look very good, i'll be getting better ones soon

the spacers dont affect anything.. they wont affect performance, or the wheel base width at all.. they just compinsate for the offset of the wheels..

you only need 2 1/2" spacers, but these 3" ones come along at the right time for the right price so I got em'

but with a set of 2 1/2" spacers, your ZR1 wheels will fit good..

Re: Camaro Update:

Just saying that seems a little extra roomy in the finder wells. But then when you do the math on it, it must just be the pics.

Dude, wider tires look good on 3rd gens but not like too much say 3 inches like most people do with some trucks and cars. But they always look good in the back with a 5 inch lift.

Re: Camaro Update:

well the new rims and tires turned out to be the exact same height of the old wheels.. they're just quite a bit wider, so fender gap shouldnt be anymore than stock.. I think it looks that way because it was dark out..

The rims stick out a little more than stock, about an inch.. The reason I had to get 275's is because when I ran it through the tire calculator, 275/40/17 come up as being the absolute closest 17" tire to the factory 245/50/16's.. So it wont through off the speedo, etc..

Ive never cared for vehicles that were lifted up in the back, or wide tires in the back.. I think its a look reserved for old muslce cars, and really doesnt work with anything else.. especially 3rd gens.. IMO

I planned on doing that to my car, just lift it up a bit and stick wider tires, not TOO wide but a lil, I think it looks cool in all camaros. Also an inch sounds good, I think it would make your camaro look mean. Take a pic from the front, so I can see how it looks with them on.
