engine similarities
hey guys,
I met a guy who from what I know has extensive knowlege about cars and he said something that I needed to confirm. He said that our Tib motor was the same as a Nissan Maxima. I'm not sure if there's any truth to that. He said that it was very likely that Nissan produced my engine because of how many similarities it has. |

By the way. In the The Maxima from the very beginning have always been a 3.0L V6, up until 2002 when they put a 3.5L in it. But still, it isn't the same 3.5L in the XG or Sante Fe either.

Re: engine similarities
Ummm the Maxima uses the VQ35, and no Hyundai doesn't use it. The 2.7L is a bored out version of the 2.5L, which may share similarities with the 2.5L used in the Spec-V, but that's it. The 6 speed tranny has some roots in Nissan though, not identical, but they are close
