Question ATF gasket (reusable)?

Last year I had a GM SRTA (transmisson) put in and it's worked flawlessly. I went to change the pan filter/gasket and noticed that the gasket that came off the car appears to be reusable (metal reinforced and metal bolt guides). The replacement (non-GM) was the age-old cork gasket (prone to seepage/leaking). I went ahead and put on the cork gasket (but am saving the original gasket, depending on the answer/thoughts generated by this thread) but wanted to know whether or not the original gasket is reusable? Does GM have thoughts on this one way or the other? (Since I'm starting to use Synthetic ATF during my annual filter changes, the seepage/leaking becomes a bit more important).
