Man I was pissed off this afternoon at work! I was in the toilet (just finishing - if you needed the info ) and my cellphone rings. The number indicates that it's the triage nurse - next door. So I press "no", and finish off. Then while I'm washing my hands, one of the other nurses (male, at least) barges in looking for me!! All because there was a new assessment - which wasn't even very urgent.

What did they expect? I was going to say "oh yes, that's really urgent. Tell you what, I won't bother wiping, or washing my hands; I'll just come straight out and see this patient, cause it's so urgent." I mean really! As far as I can see, you just don't go looking for someone in the shitter, unless you think they're dying!

Cellphoes...the twenty first century equivalent of the ball and chain around the ankle.Great to be able to communicate at will but the downside is that wherever you are,the world can follow you.At least with a pager,they can only bug you,and not ask stupid questions


And as for hunting you down to the dunny.....sounds like your friend the nurse needs an assesment

easy, you just press the "no" button if you don't want to take the call. Or turn it off if you don't want any calls. The thing that got me was coming into the ntoilet looking for me!

I agree. Mine sucks ass becasue so many people call me on it - all the time!!! And then they dont leave messges!! It's got to the point that I dont even answer it if the number doesn't pull a name. I figure that if its important they'll leave a messege.

But see then people get pissed because I dont answer my cell 100% of the time. Com on now! It's a cellPHONE!! Not a on-call duty pager. If your name aint on my phone so that you show on the screen when u call, then your ass is not VIP. Simple as that.

Sorry dude, but I am laughing my ass off at that. .... barging in the shitter... thats a riot. Thank god I dont own a cell phone or a pager. I refuse to be at the beck and call of someone by having one of those evil devices. You're right though, some people have no consideration.
