Question Do I really need this fuel pump?

Recently I have installed an Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold, Performer Camshaft, Edelbrock Tubular Exhaust Headers, and a Holley 670 CFM Two Barrel Throttle Body on my '90 S-10 4.3L. When I purchased all of these parts, I also purchased a Venom Hi-Flo fuel pump.

My question is do I really need to replace my current existing fuel pump with this one or can I keep the stock one? If I can keep the stock one (hopefully), I can send this one back and get my money back, and it'll save me from dropping the tank.

On a side note/question: Edelbrock says not to use 2 inch bore throttle bodies on their intake manifolds. With that in mind, I asked a mechanic friend about that and he said that "no, it shouldn't be a problem", of which I kind of thought about it and realized that the manifold just re-mixes the air/fuel deal, which he said "pretty much". So, does anyone else think it's a problem that I have this new Holley TBI unit with a 2-inch bore is a waste of money? (Pretty much my stock one is stuck on the old manifold due to a torn off head on one of the TBI bolts)

Any answers/suggestions are appreciated.

Re: Do I really need this fuel pump?

the stock pump only puts out 9 to 14 psi(which is good for stock tbi and intake). the new tb and intake may need more. does it specify in any of the installation paperwork on fuel pressure?

No, the instructions never said anything about adding in a new fuel pump. And, I found out that you should keep the stock TBI unit, so from the sounds of it, the stock fuel pump will do just fine.

Re: Do I really need this fuel pump?

Yes, I asked a mechanic. He said that the intake was designed to utilize the stock unit and that I will probably just waste gas with this oversized one.
