Hrmm...now I'm thinking again

Well there is a guy locally that is interested in my motor. I havn't installed it in my car yet cause of the new house and work and all. Anyways, I have roughly $1300 in the bottom end. The guy offered $1500 for it.

Ok so here is my situation. If I sell him the bottom end I am left with my old A6 bottom end, and my p&p Y8 head. So I am thinking I might just rebuild my A6 bottom end. Then the Civic can become my daily driver.

With my A6 bottom/Y8 head the C/R will be 10.5:1 which is the same c/r the built motor would have. With a DC header, intake, and exhaust I think it will be a good peppy little daily driver.

Hrmm...I don't know, I might even sell the hatch. Who knows.

Doesn't sound like it a deal that's really in your favor at all. You'd be basically selling the block (not including the upgraded parts I mean) for $200. I personally wouldn't do it, but that's just me.

LOL like I said though, this will become my daily driver. I will be looking for a 420A engine to build for my eclipse soon.

Just like a 4g63 owner lol No I think I might have decided to keep my eclipse pretty much stock and use as a daily driver. I mean it has power steering, good a/c, airbags, etc. etc...just little things that would be a good daily driver.

I figured I will keep the Y8 build and maybe go small turbo or nitrous not sure yet. Another thing is that there are only 2 decent turbo kits for the Eclipse. The star kit and Hahn kit, both run around 3K and don't use the greatest products. Where as I can put about $1500-2000 into a turbo kit for my civic and have the parts I want. Not to mention the Civic weighs less.

Then again there is a 97-99 Eclipse either GST or GSX here for $6600. Maybe its time to trade my eclipse in lol

P.S. putting a 4g63 in my Eclipse is like putting a K series in my civic. It would be nice, but just not worth the money.

Re: Hrmm...now I'm thinking again

Yeah man don't do it. My friend did an exhaust on a '96 eclipse (whatever the fwd one is) with that engine and the Star turbo kit. You're far better off buying an engine that comes stock with a turbo (4G63), for the fact that's it's built for boost. But if you still go for it, get the Hahn kit. The turbo from the Star kit is nice, but the manifold is a piece of sh*t.

Re: Hrmm...now I'm thinking again

Well I have done the swap before and its not that hard. You can get a nice 6bolt 4G63T for less then 1500, and you still get all that TQ.

Re: Hrmm...now I'm thinking again

don't bother with a motor swap on a gs eclipse...just sell it and get a gs-t or gsx...so much easier that way...

but go aheadh and sell the bottom end...$200 proftit and still got another block...see nothing wrong with that
