Removal of door panels
Hello I have a question about my 2004 Chevy Silverado LS 1500 door panels. Can anyone tell me how to safely remove the door panels without breaking things. I have located one single bolt head under the door handle. Is this the only bolt that I must remove and is the rest of the door held in with the little plastic clips. Thanks chevyman02

Re: Removal of door panels
In 2002 models there is that screw under the armrest/handle, one on the bottom of the panel and for the final one you must remove that plastic piece from around the handle which you use to open the door. The final one is under there. Remove the piece where the mirror is and then lift up. It is held on with L brackets. Be sure to pop up and disconnect any electrical switches you have on the panels. Everything clips or snaps in. If you have trouble use a screwdriver but be careful as not to scratch things...

Re: Removal of door panels
There are bolts under the door handle, one under the bottom of the storage pocket, and another behind the window/lock switches. You must pop that pod out witht he swtiches to access the screw. Un do the 3 screws, and pull the panel UP NOT OUT..

Re: Removal of door panels
Alight since we're talking about power windows, why does the switch "lock" in the down position, but not in the up position? No car that I've owned did, and I just think it's silly they don't add that.

Re: Removal of door panels
My brothers Beamer has a pressure sensative window that will lock in the up position and when it senses resistance it will go back down not just stop. Remember we are in the world of I am too stupid to think or be responsible for myself, thus we need more stupid lawsuits. I do not consider myself in the stupid is as stupid does group.
