Help on bumper lights!!!!

Hey guys, i need help on this one. Ok i tried doing the splice wire thing to make my bumper lights light up when i turn on my corner lights, it worked, but when i did it, i couldn't signal no more? So then i tried to wire it up to my head lights, and i still couldn't signal? My signal arrows in my cluster just lit up and my taillight corners lit up too. All i want to do is make it so that my bumber lights light up and still can signal? Help please guys? SORRY SO LONG

Re: Help on bumper lights!!!!

its because the bulbs are only single filament bulbs. i bet they work when your lights are off. to get 2 different lights so to speak you need dual filament bulbs.

Re: Help on bumper lights!!!!

The dual filament bulbs are the ones that when you look under it, it has two little metal circle right? If it is then i tried that already. It still didn't work. It lit up, but couldn't signal? Any thing else?

You do not need dual fillament bulbs... If you splice them together with the bulbs in the amber part of the corner lenses, they will be on as running lights, and when you signal, they will blink.

Re: Help on bumper lights!!!!

I tried splicing them and then connecting the two wires i used two to the bumper light and the other end of the two wires to the amber part of the corner lenses and i still didn't signal.

Re: Help on bumper lights!!!!

The corner lights have 2 bulbs, one is on all the time witht the headlights (running light, this is the one closest the headlight), the other (covered by amber reflector on stock corner light) only blinks with the blinker... Atleast on mine thats how it is... So knowing that, other than using a relay, theres no way to wire it up to work, not by just splicing into a single light anyways... I could be wrong, as I was having probs with my blinkers when I first got it and had to do some rewiring...

Re: Help on bumper lights!!!!

wont work because you got power going to it for the running light so even if you put power for the turn signal it doesnt work cause theres always a constant power going to it so it stays constantly lite, you need a relay of somekind i would think.

Dude... that's totally not true. And please tell me you're not trying to run 2 sets of wires to the same bulb...

The amber part of the corner lenses is constantly on, but when you use your turn signal, it blinks. So, all you have to do is run the bumper lights off of the wires from the amber part of the corner lens.

That's it.

It works.

Trust me.

I've done it.

Do u have a Civic or CRX? They may be wired differently... Every CRX Ive seen the amber is off until the turn signals come on... I was searching for an exact answer for this during my rewiring fiasco I mentioned earlier, but couldnt get an exact answer, only pics... And all of them the bulb on the far left was off when the head lights were...

Heres some pics:

And theres a few pics on here:

http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/520188

But I did fine one where the amber was on...

http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/726117

This one is an 88, and the above are 90-91s... Perhaps its the different yrs? They may be different from 88-89, and 90-91s... But I dunno... I know the corner light itself is different, so its possible...

Do this: Go turn on your parking lights (without head light), see which bulbs are on in the corner light... Then turn on your turn signal, see which one blinks... If one of them is always on and blinks, it will work... Simply wire the bumper light to that bulbs wiring... If it dosnt u will have to use the schematic posted earlier to wire them up...
