K&N Typhoon Intake Kit

who woulda thought the sound difference it makes over stock. holy cow! sure i read about it making a huge difference but jesus, it almost sounds turbocharged aside from the tell-tail blow off noise. nice little pep to the car too. im not trying to sell the part or anything just wanted to say "look at me " so to speak. but yeah, didnt make a bit of difference in first gear, but she pulls more in 2nd and 3rd. good investment. ok here is a question just cause i thought of it half way through this post. i have every intention of putting on a header, and i know i need poly mount to prevent exhaust flex. my question, on a 2005 2.2 eco how many mounts are there? i know of the upper and lower and trany, i was making sure there arent any others. also, anyone done this? i mean all 3 mounts, does it cause the rattling like just the upper? or is it secured. no i havent done this before and dont have too much of a clue what im talking about, so any information helps and bashing just isnt cool :P. thanks in advance guys

Re: K&N Typhoon Intake Kit

Upper, Lower, tranny mounts are not needed per say for a new header. Since there aren't any stiffer mounts for auto trannys that i know of, i am going to assume you have a manual. Your car should have little vibs if at all any since manuals idle at a higher speed than autos. I have the upper and lower mounts in my car and i have vibs yet, but they are not bad. First week is usually the worst till they break in.

Re: K&N Typhoon Intake Kit

Probably 15 min tops for both. Your Upper engine mount for the ecotec is going to be almost 8X what i paid for my upper incert. CHeapest i have seen the upper one for the ecotec is somwhere near 125 bucks, and the lower is the same from 95-05 which runs around 40-45 bucks. Lower one should take about 5 min. Remove 2 bolts and swap the new one in. Upper mounts involes gettin the coolant resovoir out of the way.
