2000 chevy metro, no start, need help

I just recently put four new pistons in a 2000 metro and now it wont start. All I did was take the head off and honed the cyclinders and put the new pistins in and put it all back together. i have done this before on plenty of cars with no problem. the timing is right, there is spark, all the wires are connected. but i am not getting any signal to the fuel injectors. I have spent far too much time trying to figure out what i did wrong. what could be the problem!?

So you're not getting any fuel at all? Have you checked things unrelated to the head job? If you're not getting any gas, it's possible electrical. Make sure the fuse or relay for the fuel injection isn't blown. Would seem strange that this would happen while you were doing a head job, but it's possible you pinched a wire or something while taking it off/putting it on, and caused a fuse to pop.

But then, if you're taking your own heads off, fuses are probably the first thing you checked. Is fuel pressure being built? Does the pump turn on when the key is ahead to ignition, then click off after a few seconds? Sure sign that pressure is there. If it's not building pressure, it might be your fuel pump fuse or relay. hrm.. I'm just kind of thinking out loud to see if I can come up with anything you might have overlooked.

If sensor plugs are all plugged back in, fuses and relays all check out, then I'm stumped, if you're not getting gas out of the injectors. If you ARE getting gas and spark but it still doesn't start, then I'm gonna guess timing, but you say that's ok..

Fuses are good, the pump is coming on and building pressure and i really dont think i pinched any wires on the thing (there are only so many wires on a metro. new info; i am getting a ground pulse to the injectors and i am getting spark, BUT only for the first revolution of the engine. let me be a little more clear, the injectors only fire once and so does the spark plugs. its like the computer is getting bad signals from the sensors and cutting off the ignition and FI. or maybe the computer itself is bad.... i am planing to take the car to a local mechanic. i will keep you guys updated.

PROBLEM FIXED! now get this, it was the oil pan gasket. the crank position sensor is mounted to the oil pan lip. the car comes from the factory with silocone, but i put a after market cork gasket on the car which spaced the oil pan farther from the block, which spaced the crank postion sensor farther from the tone wheel on the crank. it was just far enough to prevent the sensor from reading the tone wheel. so the sensor couldn't tell the computer when to fire the injectors or the spark plugs. replaced the cork gasket with siloncone and the thing runs fine. I hope this helps someone.

I just wanted to say that you may have helped me out a great bit!

its a 2000 chevy metro.. 1.3L came in for a "burning smell" so im like.. ok.. oil is dumping on the headers.. so i replace the valve cover gasket, oil pan, and trans pan gasket... wont start... cranked forever, shot starting fluid in the intake, nothing.. checked spark.. wasnt getting any.. checked injector pulse.. not getting any.. so i replaced the plugs and wires... removed the crankshaft position sensor... started after cranking another ten min, went to back it out, restarted it and it wouldnt start.. now there is no injector pulse again.... tomorrow is suppose to be my off day and i have to go in to finish it...

I think you just helped me out, and it makes perfect since to why it wont start..

Im so stressed about it i had to do some searching for an hour or 2 on the internet until i found this site!
