Pajero auto transmission problems

Greetings
I own Pajero here in the Philippines that was converted locally from rh
to lh drive (called a Subic conversion) The car was fine until the crankcase bolt stripped and the crankshaft had to be rethreaded (I understand that was a recall at 1 time) The transmission was removed--it is a diesel 250 4x4 automatic when put back the unit would not shift above 2nd. I took it to another shop and they found the valve assembly had been taken apart and 2 springs were missing. AFter locating another part and putting in a rebuild kit--the unit will go to 4th gear but the engine revs high and will not go out of 2nd until about 30mph (50km) and on level surfaces at 50mph (80km) the engine revs at about 3000 rpm which was not the case before. Any ideas as the mechanics here are not that familiar with ATs and the local Mitsubishi dealers refuse to look at these converted cars.

It is me again with no responses---Is there anyone out there who knows someone who is familiar with Pajero ATs--I cant even consult a dealer here. The facts are:
1. High rpm before shifts
2. 4th gear (overdrive) rpm too high at cruising speeds
3. Valve assembly changed and possibly the torque converter--need to
talk to mechanic here.
Would appreciate someone who could take the time to ask these questions from a local Mitsubishi dealer or from a mechanic expert with the Pajeros.

Well Still no responses--for your info I talked directly to the service manager and one of the techs at the local Diamond Mitsubishi Agencies here and found out the following--which may be of interest to those of you who have bought "homebrew" conversions of these cars:
1. The harness wiring has been tampered with during the conversion so that the data reader cannot diagnose problems
2. There is probably a wire broken or a plug not plugged in correctly to
the harness or transmission
3. Since all the sensors werechecked those were ruled out.
4. The onboard computer was exchanged with another one initially ruling that out.
5. The valve and valvebody was replaced for mechanic for missing parts which may have been omitted during the conversion (which did not seem to affect the performance of the transmission)

Moral of the story--take your vehicle to someone who knows completely about the mechanisms they supposed to service. I paid $300 to this
jerk who really did not know what he is doing and that is big money here in the Philippines--so he got the warning--he fixes it correctly and gets
the help he needs or I take it to Mitsubishi and he gets the bill.

there is a guy who's quite well-versed with fixing up pajeros.

if you're near the paranaque area, look for joseph atotubo and he's in the multinational village. i forgot his contact number, but his name's mentioned in the forums of tsikot.com and mymitsuph.com as well.

hi i read your problems with your pajero did. my first impression was probably your valve body assembly was replaced. it can be fixed though. but most import pajero like yours have a four speed tranny. and local version here have 5 speed invecs II. parts of that transmission is difficult to find since surplus parts from japan is mostly four speed. so the only way to know is to check if the valve body installed in your vehicle matches ur tranny. second, there might also be a problem with our torque converter that has to be checked.
