Ion - Ignition Switch Problem

Just wanted to post about a problem several Ion's have been having. The ignition switch has been shortening out causing the car to start when it wants, and not when it doesn't. Not sure if anyone on here's had that problem or not, but I just had mine repaired. According to the mechanic, quite a few other Ion owners have had the problem.

Re: Ion - Ignition Switch Problem

I just had to have mine replaced. They said the gel in it was freezing. This sounds like it should have been a recall. It cost me $150. Did you hear anything more about a recall from any other posters?

Re: Ion - Ignition Switch Problem

just warenty I think, I fix a switch atleast once a day. Its the grease inside the switch, it touches the elec points in the switch, causing it not to get proper contact when you go to turn it over
