LX Cluster
I just bought a 1998 Civic LX with manual transmission, and it has no tachometer, and was wondering if i went to a junk yard, would i be able to swap gauge clusters with one that has a tach?? i need one so i can teach my girlfriend how to drive a standard.
Thanks for the help Bryan McEachern |

I would just get a aftermarket tach. Looks better IMO anyways..

Re: LX Cluster
yes you can the 99-00 SI one bolts up also alot easier and cheaper to find is the higher trim EX ones.
also you can get an aftermarket tach also but aim for 3" ones easy to see and not view blocking and silly loooking. my set up its a 3" autometer ultra light. this is an old pic with some ass wiring and no showing my new A pillar pod.

Re: LX Cluster
Odd. My wife has a 96 LX auto and it does have a tach.

Re: LX Cluster
lx ex and si have tachs. dx does not. theyre all interchangable. what i did was i bought an ex cluster and i took it apart and changed the speedometer part so i have the original miles on it.
