Downtown Los Angeles

Let me first say that disability kicks ass! Last weekend I put my hand through a window and had to get some stitches so I couldn't work this whole week. I used today to go to Downtown LA and take some pictures of the city. Hope you enjoy them, there's a lot...

I started the day by cruising up to Palos Verde and took some shots of the city from a distance:

Then I made my way to a local park which had a nice view of the city:

Hollywood:

Trying my hand at a panoramic:

Here's some up-close and personal shots of the city:

Just some random shots of the city streets:

California Plaza (taller buliding of the two, 750 ft.):

*****One of my favorite shots:*****

777 Tower (725 ft.):

City Hall:

Disney Conert Hall:

Bank of America Tower (735 ft.):

Gas Company Tower (749 ft.):

Figueroa at Wilshire Building (717 ft.):

Staples Center. Home of the LA Lakers, Kings, etc.:

Aon Center. 2nd tallest building in LA. 69th tallest in the world (858 ft.):

US Bank Tower, aka Library Tower. Tallest building west of the Mississippi River. 7th overall in USA. 24 th tallest in the world. (1,018 ft):

It'll make you a lil dizzy at times:

Yeah, I know I'm a skyscraper nerd. Thanks for viewing.

Re: Downtown Los Angeles

That Disney Concert Hall looks broken!

Awesome pics - very nice clarity - especially with the skyscraper shots

Re: Downtown Los Angeles

Is the Gas Company Tower the building from Die Hard? It's hard to see at that angle.

No, the Die Hard building is actually located west of Los Angeles in Century City. I believe the building is called Fox Plaza.

Actually LA does pretty well in the world ranking of skylines. #21 in the top 100 in the world and that's not including Century City.

Just do one of Wellington too! Someone in NZ has to be a better photographer than Dave.
