'02 Elantra exhaust manifold recall???

So I took my car to the dealership for it's 30k maintenance and they told me there was no such recall for my vehicle. I've read around here on several occassions about the recall being available for the same year as mine.

Can someone point me SPECIFICALLY where the recall is listed. I've looked on the HMA website and cannot find one listed there.

It depends on the production of your car, not all of the 2002 Elantra's fall under the recall.

VEHICLES AFFECTED:
• Models: Elantra and Tiburon vehicles with 2.0L engines
• Affected Production Date Range:
• 1999-2002 Elantras: Produced through January 31,2002
• 1999-2003 Tiburons: Produced through January 31,2002

That was copy/pasted straight from the recall bulletin. You can look inside your drivers door jamp for the production date of your car.

It turns out the dealership replaced the manifold under warrantee and it's all fixed now. =)

However I'll still keep your reply in mind and look for myself just for possible future knowledge.

I had my '02 Elantra in for a tune-up at 49,965 and we found a 3" long crack in the exhaust manifold above the #3 tube. My car would have fallen under the recall less than 3 weeks later, but it was under warrenty... Another place to look for your car's manufacture date is on a work order from a Hyundai Dealership.
