alarm code

alarm code range rover

Last week i had a flat battery , so i had to give in again the alarm
code , but i not succeed , it still keep on saying on display , wrong code , what am i doiing wrong ? when i give in the code , i put start cables from my other car on the rover , is it possible the motor compartiment must be closed ?
