Question what is MIVEC???

hey i was test drving a lancer ralliart and i poped the hood to see the engine and i saw MIVEC on the spark pulg cover i asked the guy and he said its a new thing and doesnt knoe much

so i was wonder what does MIVEC mean and what does it do to the engine/car ?

Its a mitsu verson of vtec. Varable valve timing.

yeah, Mvec is just mitsus equivalent of VTEC.

Its funny how you say the guy didnt know much. Most of these sale people have no clue about what their selling. When the Evos first hit US markets, I was there in an instant, checking them out at the dealers, just for kicks. Now, the paper read "twin SCROLL turbocharger". The dealer kept trying to convince me that the Evo was "twin-TURBO" because it read "twin-SCROLL". lol. Oh, and another story....some guy (read this somewhere) tried to sell an NT DSM as "turbocharged and supercharged", just because it has a painted valve cover and some engine dressup. lmao!

holy crap. I was going to make a joke about it being a mitsubishi version of VTEC I didnt know it was a real deal. thats weird.
