Transfer Case and Vacuum Line

Just a question. My dad has an 85 blazer and he is getting an aweful ticking sound from the transfer case. He thinks his tranny is going. He mentioned to me that he needs to get his vacuum line hooked back up for the 4X4. Could this maybe cause the front axles to partially engage causing this sound?

Re: Transfer Case and Vacuum Line

Could be that or the transfer case is low on fluid.

Get this fixed ASAP.

Well I actually got a chance to look at my dad's blazer real quick and it seems the sound is there even when it is in "Park". The sound seems to be coming from the oil pan so it is most likely the engine going. Guess it won't be a quick fix after all.....

Re: Transfer Case and Vacuum Line

one sec, you are getting a grinding from the oil pan?

What oil are you using, what filter?

Is it starting weird?
