Could someone plz tell me exactly where the transmission filter is in a 95 Automatic Mazda 626. It has a side mount pan. I bought the new one at O'Rielly's and I see nothing similar to it when I removed the pan. Please help!!!

Re: Replacing Transmission Filter in a 626
95 and 96 626 have two different types transmissions, one american, and one comes from japan. One is on the bottom, and one is on the side. May have gotten the wrong one.

Re: Replacing Transmission Filter in a 626
oh, the filter is in the oil pan. watch because some oil pans have reuseable gaskets. those year mazada should have been recalled for thier transmissions. I have a 96 and have had two, the american nor the japanese is any better than the other. when mine goes I will either junk it or change it to manual.
