roll cage's

I was just wondering if some body can give me a tip on building models with roll cages. Everytime i build a model with a roll cag it looks perfect untill im ready to put the body and when i dry fit it the body wont go all the down over the chassis. Dose aybody else have this problem or knoe how i can prevent this?
Thanks,
MikE

Which model manufacturers are they from??? I haven't had this problem with tamiya kits so far and have not had to remedy it. I would advise to dry fit the set up before painting to check for a problem. Its likely to be the thickness of the 'glass' that causes the problem so i think the only way to go about it is to reduce the height of the cage. If i came across this situation i might attempt to lower it by cutting through selected parts with a razor saw. As the saw cuts through the plastic it is removing a small amount so when its stuck back together it will be shorter than the original piece. If u cut through the vertical bars at the lower part of the cage and do so carefully, it should be the same height all around!!! if u dont have one of these saws then perhaps u could sand away at the bottom of the pilars and then replace any locating pins - if there are any?

F.O.T.W....Ditto to what he said.

Ive never struck this problem before with any of the roll cages i have built.
If i do have a problem its with the Revell/Monagram one's that dont fit together very well.

I trimmed a little from the bottom and the and it still didnt fit and then i looked again and found a ball of glue on the top where they connected and trimmed that off.
