help!!

im new, so im sorry if this question has been already been asked somewhere... and if it has i didnt find it... and ive searched online, also with no luck.

ka24e motor with and sr20 trans.... it works.. after you switch out the bellhousings.. so the problem is there are 3 sensors on a ka24e trans... while there are only 2 on the sr20... my question is... which 2 sensors do i need, and where should they go? and if i need all 3...what should i do?

the car runs without the sensors in... but it would be nice to have reverse lights and perhaps a first gear gate...

sorry again if this has been covered somewhere and i didnt find it.

Re: help!!

i think you just answered your own question:
"but it would be nice to have reverse lights and perhaps a first gear gate..." those sensors should be the ones you use.

Re: help!!

well, your reverse light sensor i think is a must.... and think of it this way, unless all 3 sensors are tied into the same system, using only 2 shouldnt affect anything (2 is better than none)

Re: help!!

would i possibly be able to splice two of the sensors together? i suggested that to my boyfriend and he wasnt sure either...i dont want to just screw them in and see what happens, unless there isnt any other possible way. id rather find out how to do it right the first time, rather than run the risk of screwing something up. we just put a rebuilt ka24e in this week, after swapping the tranny about 2 months ago.

after all the drama and problems we went through in finding another engine.....id rather not screw up by misplacing the tranny sensors.

Re: help!!

dont splice two sensors together..... if they each monitor different things, you will royally F*** something Up... i personally think it wouldnt mess anything up to put in the reverse sensor (as long as its in the correct place)
