What will fit in my Honda?

I was wanting to know what swaps are available for my 94 Honda Civic 4Door LX. It's got a 1.5L in it and I was thinking I could throw a 2.3 VTEC in it. Any advice on whether that will fit or what the best bang for my buck is on engines for it. Thanks.
