Hi all.
I'm a newbie here at what I believe to be the world's largest and best automotive forum. While I look foreward to perusing the whole site, I must share a discovery that has kept me up nights in excitement, possibly born out of ignorance!!
I've come across an automobile auction site which simply took my breath away. While there are many such sites, this one allows you to search for available autos after indicating your preferred make, model, and location. The database is searched and various options are presented.... and this is the good part... all at riduculous prices. I live in New Jersey and I bought a 2002 Acura MDX last year for $21,540, which I considered fair value for its less than mint condition. This auction gave me four options all between $1000-$2500, with prices changing by the minute. I couldn't believe it, so I emailed one of the guys whose testimonial they carry.
Wow, what he told me blew me right away. He knew a guy who got a $50,000 Lexus for $4,000 ( that's FOUR thou) because he was the only guy in the vicinity who wanted a car like that at that time (he had to repair a smashed passenger-side window). The one the testimonial guy got wasn't such a bargain: a 2003 Infiniti G35 $7,867 (insured value $22,450). It's amazing. I wish I'd known about the site before I bought mine.
Any way the little lady's been griping about a new car for a while now, and I want to use this site. Being an auction there are no guarantees as to condition of the auto, but it's still worth the risk given the discounts available. Even relatively major repairs can be paid for with the money saved on dealer prices. Apparently before the web, this was one big dealers' secret. Not any more. If you want the site link, drop me a private message here. It looks like I'll be spending many nights on this forum, and I'll get it to you right away.
