In normal race conditions, how is itpossible that a skyline (r34 550 bhp) would get taken by a MAzda Miata (450 bhp) in a 1.2 mile 3 lap race, secondly what can be done to improve the power output of the original skyline?

Simply put, power to weight ratio
R34 GTR weight ~3672lbs Mazda Miata weight ~2447lbs But really it's very difficult to know without specifics such as mods, tuning, type of track which means type of handling is better, etc. etc. Also, saying R34 Skyline is REALLY vague, I gave the weight for the GTR. But for all I know it could be a RWD GTT or just a GT.
