Re: soft brake pedal

1. Check level in brake fluid reservoir

2. Insure tight connections and look for leaks

3. Re-bleed and test.

There has to be some leak, somewhere if this happened after the new brakes were installed.

Re: soft brake pedal

4 inches? Wow, that's a lot.

I'd suspect the master cylinder. What year is your 3500? If it's still under warranty it's time to let the dealer pay for it.

Re: Re: soft brake pedal

is your truck a diesel? If so you need to have it running when you bleed your brakes.

I know this might be way out but are your rotors and drums the right size and not turned to big (for drums) or too small (for rotors). I have had a vehicle in the past that had a very low brake pedal and come to find out one drum was cut too big that the brake cylinders were expanding to their maximum and resulted in a low brake pedal!

Re: soft brake pedal

Dam; so all this time you've been having air going IN through the bleed ports? Wow. Hope you weren't driving it.....

Re: soft brake pedal

Probably needs to be bled more on the left front. You probably did already, but make sure the reservoir is full.
