Angry F@#* Volkswagen

I bought a jetta because Volkswagens are 'supposedly' reliable. that's a bunch of CRAP. My car no longer runs at all, and no mechanic will even take a look at it. I can't make heads or tails of it either. And WTF is up with having to open my Power Steering Pump just to change out the Thermostat?!?!
I'm buying a Chevy. f@#* import cars.

screw Volkswagen, Audi, Saab, Volvo, Bmw, Honda/Acura, Toyota, Daewoo, Hyundai, Mopar, Ford, etc. I've driven plenty of chevy's and NEVER have I been let down... screw front wheel drive. Screw imports, screw mopar, screw ford...

Re: F@#* Volkswagen

Well if you want a Chevy then go buy a Chevy.
If you want help for your problem...give people some info to work with.
Cursing every manufacturer in existence doesn't really do anything for anybody.

You sound like my Dad!

My dad claims that V-dubs suck and that Chevy is the best. Jokes on him. I do my brakes and rotors for well under a hundred. My dad's Chevy costs him over a $100. When he and I talked about the price of car parts it turns out the VW parts cost far less than Chevy parts. Also, all cars are going to be electronic soon anyway.

No, I'm not a redneck. I actually WAS into the import tuner scene for a while. I used to own a Turbo MR2. But every import I've owned has let me down, but Chevy: LIKE A ROCK

Re: F@#* Volkswagen

Personally, I'd like to have a 69 camaro with a 396 but that's not in the cards. I'll probably settle for the new Cobalt SS.

FUCK chevy dude, german engineering has a good reputation for a reason....and eveyr car has a problem...especially if you buy a '69 that hasn't been rebuilt. And as far as having problems with an MR2 Turbo, old turbo's driven hard will break...any car driven hard has problems. Have fun with the chevy though.

do i sense some hostility

Lets face it, if any one has an itch for speed and power a chevy small block will scratch it alot better than any foreign car you can afford. I curently own both a 68 350 camaro, and a 2000 VR6. i have the VW for the week goin to and from work and school good power for the gas mileage obviosly maintainence on the camaro is alot less stressful than the popular front wheel drive cars, and there is nothing like an old fashioned power slide to scare off all the imports. So im gonna sum it all up for everyone now, Yes we do save money driving the fuel efficient imports. however we lose that money repairing it, and if by some miracle you find a part on a foreigner that is cheaper than an american, you will save $300 on maint. by just repairing it yourself in that ol' 350.

Re: F@#* Volkswagen

I have to say this about the forum All cars have trouble I have a 1991 jetta that I have been swapping in a 1.8l 16v dohc from my 8v sohc. The 8v has been overheating leaving stranded twice and now has sat for 6 months and wont start. I also have a 2004 ext. cab Chevy Silverado that drives like a dream. My VW has 172,000 on it my Chevy has 26,000 on it.

I would rather build the car up and drive it anyday of the week. the way it handles, the way the recaros wrap you up like the car is hugging you,the way it takes a corners at 70mph OH MY GOD. Yeah its broke down right now and yeah I have had my share of problems and money pissed away but thats part of having an older car. Thier is a support network of guys who want to help you fix it. I also am a member of vwfixx.com and I have had guys come from a 100 miles away with a single part that I needed and helped me put it on. Dont give up we are here to help. fix it up and make it your own.

And if you still fell that way I would like first dibs on your dash board I want to swap it into my car.
