1. As most of you know i have some electrical problems. THe main one being a short somewhere. Ok, you know the 10A fuse right next to the Radio fuse? That's the one i've always had problems with. The fuse keeps blowing. Well now, i can get the fuse in without it popping, and then start the car fine. But if i shut it off and start the car again, i get a CEL. So i took it down to Autozone to see what it could be. I explained what was happeing to an employee. The dude hooked up his computer to it and there was no reading. He said "hmmm, that fuse must have popped. It probably controls the thing under your dash that i plug my computer in to." I know this fuse controls the interior lights, door bell, power antenna, security and the door sensor light on the dash. He also said "that fuse might control the CEL on the dash too, so when you put the fuse in, there could be something else wrong with the motor and the ECU throws a CEL out since the fuse is in there. For example you could have a bad O2 sensor, but won't get a CEL until the fuse goes in to control the light for the CEL"...I didn't know the CEL was controlled by a fuse like that. Is this true? Do you guys know what fuse i'm talking about? Under the hood, in the fuse compartment, it's the 10A next to the 10A Radio fuse. Any help would be great.
2. Today I went to CarQuest and bought a clutch master cylinder rebuild kit. I need this because i have the '2g Ghost Pedal'. (When you apply a light pedal pressure and the clutch pedal sinks to the floor all by itself. This is because of a seal in the master cylinder that could have a nick in it, allowing fluid to bypass it. But when a heavy/fast pressure is applied, the seal works normal). Anyway i had my master cylinder out the other night to see if it was fixable. I had it all apart, except i couldn't get the piston out. In my manual it says bang it on a block of wood to get it out. I banged the hell out of it for an hour and the piston never budged. How the hell do you get these things out? Also, how hard is it to rebuild the whole master cylinder?
Thanks for any help.
UPDATE > Found another 10A fuse, put it in, waited for the CEL then went to Auto Zone again. The guy ran the computer on it and it came up as air/fuel mixture off...The guy said it's more than likely my mass air flow sensor. Now my question is...Why is it throwing out this code!? The only time my CEL comes on is with this fuse in there. But this fuse can't control the CEL because i have had a CEL without the fuse being in there a couple times before (like the time my g/f stalled my car REAL bad, i coulda swore the front bumper hit the ground, i got a CEL). What's going on here? I know i'm running a bit rich due to the fact that i'm venting again, but everyone i know that vents never got a CEL for the miixture being off...
