flooring it

is flooring the engine every now and then to have a little fun on hilly roads all that bad for the car? what can i damage by doing that, etc, etc...

Flooring your car isn't neccesarily bad, unless you were to do it too often. Obviously, when your generating more power at a higher RPM, you wear engine parts quicker - but you'll be alright if you don't do it all the time. You shouldn't need to redline it either - you should only be revving just past your torque peak.
