Re: Found a Crack

Year? Engine? Depending on the size of the crack, yes it could. A bad intake gasket can also cause this.

1993 c1500 4.3L, motor was rebuilt not long before i bought it.

Its a real small crack, i was in process of replacin head gaskets cause of a bad leak, and then i found this crack. But i cant see such a small hairline crack leak soo much coolant into my oil and i noticed it dripping from the exhaust manifold / exhaust pipe connection.

Re: Found a Crack

A bad head gasket could also explain the coolant loss. The other thing to remember that as the head gets hot, the crack will expand.

You should take the head to a machine shop to see if it can be repaired.
