Re: problem with SLR

I ordered add-a-leaves from them last month, they arrived in a couple or three weeks drop-shipped directly from the manufacturer. When I called to order, Spencer himself answered the phone. He called me back not long after they arrived to confirm all was well.

What number are you trying to reach them at? They moved from Arizona to California within the last several weeks and you might be trying the old number.

Did you call Spencer to order the parts or did you order them online?? Just keep trying to get ahold of him, as I'm sure they are extremly busy. Once you get your parts, you be 100% satisfied.

their SS is rock solid. I'm saving my pennies and collecting the change from the sofa so I can get it. Haven't heard to much about the diff lowering kit though. I'm sure someone else will chime in to let you know. But if it's from SLR, you'll know you're getting a quality product.

Re: problem with SLR

The diff drop kit is a royal pain to install. If you don't have their tubular A-arm lift, there's really little reason to have it, as no other arms provide enough increase in travel to warrant them or the trouble of installing them.

well 7 weeks now and still no product... i spoke with spencer last moday and he told me he was waiting for materials on tuesday and that he would give me a call on tuesday telling me when i would expect it... as usuall with this company no call. so i wrote him an email 5 days ago, and also no response. he informed me that the diff drop kit he had for quite some time but was waiting to finish everything else befor sending it. that way he could send it all together. kind of strikes me odd speaking that i paid for shipping on everything... so it kinda seems like hes making a little money off that end. working with SLR as been the worst experience ive ever had when it has come to after market parts... everything he says he stands for on his web sight has been far from the truth considering my experience. I would only reccomend his protucts to people without enough stress in their lives. unfortunatly he is the only person making some of the products us xterra owners need. maybe hes banking on the fact when it comes to customer service

well finally after 8 weeks i got my product!!! the design of the new sterring system looks simple...looks like the stock pitman and idler arms, but then a gusset is welded on to them. the install was easy. but after installing it i can only move my steering whell about 2/3 the way because the tie rods impact my sway bar. it looks like the only way to solve the problem would be either to drop the clamps on the sway bar, which would interfere with the front skid plate, or have some type of new sway bar made without the funky bend at the end of it, as that is the end that makes contact. any suggestions???

to continue on with the soga im having with SLR... after recieving my product i noticed my new idler arm shaft, which was supposed to be his "new and improved one", is the stock one... it doenst even look remotly close to the one on his web sight...in fact it is identical to the stock one...even the same part number on it...funny...speaking that he had no problem taking my money when i ordered his version of it.

the sterring system IS rock solid (besides the obvious idler arm shaft) but im not sure if it was worth the money, and im positive it was not worth the crap ive had to deal with from SLR... on top of that he has numerouse times told me he is going to credit some of the money back to me for the hassel (also for double charging me on extruded brass bearings) and has not...so i'm not holding my breath on getting my core charges back for my OEM pitman and idler arms
