Talking 1989 Mazda 626 Turbo mods

Howdy all, I just bought a 1989 Mazda 626 Turbo 4WS for my first car, and am wondering if anyone has owned a car with the same series of engine in it, and what I can do to squeeze a bit more performance out of it. Nothing insane or seriously debilitating to the reliability, I am thinking new exhaust from the engine to the exit, and a cold air induction system. Any ideas??????

Cheers,
Nick

Re: 1989 Mazda 626 Turbo mods

the most simple and cheapest way to increase horsepower with a turbo engine is to increase boost pressure. buy a manual boost controller, u can get them off ebay for like 10 bucks, read up on how to install it, then u'll need a boost gauge and air/fuel gauge to make sure u don't blow your engine by over boosting. a 2.5" or 3" turbo back exhaust system does good for power. and just put a cone filter, but mount it somewhere low where it will get the coldest air possible.
