Serp. Belt
Hi Folks,
I have Toyota Corolla 2003 model car. Recently I had by 35000 miles oil change service. I was advised by the Dealer that my Serp. Belt started to Crack and it needs to be replaced. Can anyone explain what is Serp. Belt and is it common to start cracking at 35000 miles? How much does it cost to get it fixed in case i have to replace it. Thanks in advance KK |

Re: Serp. Belt
Serpentine belt is the one long belt that runs all of your accessories, i.e. a/c, power steering...It does seem a little early to have to replace, however if it is cracked and needs it, I would not hesitate. It should be fairly cheap. Good luck!

Should be under warranty.

Re: Serp. Belt
Not a warranty issue. It is considered maintenance...

Re: Serp. Belt
I think you have to remove the upper motor mount to replace the serpintine belt. Cracks aren't nessessarily bad, but missing sections are. If you can, repalce it. One less thing to worry about.
