Which models or years have a 5S-FE engine?

Not only are these engine pricy but having a tough time finding a california model. I see many cars for $300 to $600 for sale but not sure which models have this engine for my '96 Camry LE with cooked engine. Please help and thanks in advance, I'm in northern california.

Re: Which models or years have a 5S-FE engine?

Camry engines in 1996-2001 are most similar to your car. They are all ODBII-compliant and will have the correct wiring for the ECM. Engines 1992-1995 are structurally identical to yours, but probably have different sensors/wiring. There may be differences in the ignition system that I'm not aware of.

You need an expert to give you the details if you want one that just drops in. Any 1992-2001 should provide you with a long-block.
