Newbie...

Hey gang...I've been lurking for a few days and decided to register.

I'm in a 2001 Silverado Ext. Cab with a 4.3L V6. No mods just yet, but you folks are giving me all kinds of ideas.

My first order of business may very well be the FIPK from K&N. A buddy just installed it and it seems to be worth the cash. His mileage didn't change much, but HP seems to have spiked up a bit. Now if I could just find $300 laying on the sidewalk somewhere...

Looking forward to sharing ideas with you all!

Snake

Ok, then I need to find $190 on the sidewalk. I just had to shell out almost $300 for a set of nerf bars, because my wife insisted on getting them (she's 5'3", and feels shee needs the extra step).

I made that mistake ONCE, my girlfriend said she needed themto help her get in as well. $425 of black powder coated ones, i did not mind spending it cause i like the way they look on a truck better than running boards, but did she use them? HELL NO lol. If you are going to get them i suggest spending the extra and getting the stainless steel ones. No matter how much you look after your truck they end up looking like crap cause the powder coated rust like a Ford.

Hahaha! Now that's funny!

If anyone gets a set, finds a set cheap, etc and wants to dress 'em up. you can do so by having them Rhinolined (or getting a kit and doing so yourself).

I know someone who had his done (on a Nissan Frontier) and they came out pretty sweet-looking.

Never got it cleaned up this weekend - I was working on cleaning that throttle body and replacing a speaker in the driver's side door. Plus I have some clear corners getting shipped out this week, so I'll get to it hopefully this weekend...

I bought a clay bar kit on the recommendation of my uncle who is a professional detailer - anyone tried this out yet? He swears by it, and has for years.

Jake
