Question Check Engine Light

I have a 98 Dodge Durango 5.2 with the check engine light on. Is there a way of getting the errors codes without having an OBD II reader?

Re: check engine light

My 99 has been on for the past several days also. I was told that advance auto or auto zone would check it for free. Advance is not allowed to do it any more but auto zone did and told me my code in under 1 minute. no charge. hope this helps.

Thanks coonrod70. I'll check with my local autozone.
