Need 4.0 engine 97 Explorer which engines fit?

Have a 1997 Ford Explorer with a blown timing chain...prefer to install a complete low mileage engine.

Which year engine will fit....and does anyone have a low mileage engine for sale?

thanks

Ed

1998 Engine fit

I blew my 1997 Explorer Eddie Bauer engine and was able to purchase a a engine out of a wrecked 1998 4.0 ltr SOHC engine... the engine runs great! I bought the engine (w/ 75,000 miles on it) for $500 and had it installed for another $600.

I have 4.0 EFI engine from a 97 XLT that was rear ended with 82,000 miles on it. I just started stripping it, so get back to me soon. I will take 500.00 plus freight shipping cost to you in New York. I am located in Ohio. If you are an ebayer, I can list it there for you as protection. My e-mail is [email protected]. Thanks, Tom
