1996 blazer no spark or or no fuel?

ok been having this problem for awhile. 1996 blazer 4.3 wont start intermitently. finally had access to starting fluid when this occured. sprayed starting fluid into throttle body and still no start. have to hook jumper cables up and just turn over and over and over and over until it starts. after it start and runs for about 10 mins starts up fine everytime.

this blazer has new wires, plugs, dist. rotor, filters, replaced the icm also. i am getting spark at the coil. didnt check the spark after the dist yet. but since this didnt start or attempt to start after starting fluid was sprayed couldnt i boil this down to a spark issue, which would incline me to think crank sensor or cam sensor? also no codes at all.

Re: 1996 blazer no spark or or no fuel?

Are there any stored codes? Get the truck scanned to confirm if there are or aren't any. If there are codes, that may lend a clue. If there aren't any - I would suspect an Ignition module or a bad coil after ruling out any loose connections to either. I did some work on the truck a few days back and knocked my own primary current lead out of the coil pack. Tach acted all squirrelly and engine was missing slightly; but since you just did all of this replacement work - I would double check the harnesses in the areas where you had your hands. It's so easy to knock something loose when you have to reach and work blind.

Check fuel pressure with the key to the first position.

have checked the fuel pressure before it was between 58 and 63 with key first notch, but wouldnt it of started even for just a second with the starting fluid in it. that is what i am wondering about. because if it should have started just for a second that is telling me there is no spark to ignite the the starting fluid?

That is kinda low for a 1996.

Should be between 61-66psi.

I would check spark at each of the plug wires.
