Help me pick my suspension plz

Okay so before i concentrate on more "go" mods i wanna upgrade my suspension so it can help the wrong will driven beast. Okay so i was thinking about either TEIN springs or Eibach springs. The Tein are really cheap- $159 and the Eibach are $225. So which would you guys pick? Any bad experience with either?

Now for the second concern.....The tein are a 1.5 inch drop and the Eibach are 1.3 inch drop and theyre for cars 95-98 (where is 99?). So does the .2 inch difference really matter? Will my wheels start to look like this in the back- / \ if i get it that low?

It's more of your choice. there both good brands so its the matter of how much do you want to spend.

eibach are very good springs with a nice ride quality. you should be able to get either a 1.3 inch drop or a 1.7 inch drop depending on the model of spring. there's a few different choices so i would figure out what you want first (how low to go, ride quailty, etc) and then go with the best springs for your wants.

Yea from what i hear eibach is good, but the price difference is pretty big approximately $65. If i go with TEIN how much will i be losing in quality to eibach? I mean my car doesnt ride well as it is in my opinion. I feel like every little thing on the road imagineable. Can anyone describe what the ride quality would be like for both? Keep in mind my car is strictly for street purposes only.

i dont think it will matter much. your still using your stock dampeners? the both have a fairly low spring rate like 175lbi dont reamber exactly. the lower you go the less your rate of travel will be. but eather way you'll be loosing ride quaility.

I've been getting along modding my spyder slowly over the past year, paycheck to sacred paycheck, so I do realize how money flows and how people want to apportion their earnings into their car.... I still have to get the suspension done, but I wanted full coilovers; I saw NEX c/os on ebay for about $600 shipped. Theyve got pretty good reviews on them too, I'd suggest for you to wait just a little, and get some coilovers...Adjustable spring height is a cool thing to have just in case.

If you still want just springs, I used to have Megan racing springs in my n/t spyder with Tokico blues. Ride comfort is highly sacrificed, you feel EVERY single bump. Also, I made a mistake getting something other than Eibach...those springs sagged a minimum of 1.5" over 6 months. Horrible. Get Eibachs is you want to go with springs... Just a side note, get shocks at the same time and do everything together; youll save the labour, since stock shocks WILL blow after a while once your car is closer to the ground.

With either set of springs you'll need a new alignment, where you'll find you probably need to make camber adjustment. Eibach are higher quality. Higher quality still would include hypercoils, a popular switchout with the GC Eibach springs. Ride comfort will depend largely upon the shock setup you use. Koni's are the best, and definitely worth the money if you have it. Go with Illuminas if not.

If you only want to lower the car, and not worry about cornering ability, get some Eibach's and Illuminas, or plan on replacing your shocks in the near future after changing the springs.

If you want a road/auto x car, get Ground Control coilovers and Koni's. With swaybars, if possible.

Times are tight, money's hard, we're probably all at that place right now. Lol, I am at least I'm saving for the Koni/GC's and about halfway there. If you need to nab a hottie with a quickness from the badass stance of the lowered DSM, get Eibach and call it a day. From there, you can change out the shocks when they blow, and have a decent spring platform should you decide to upgrade beyond it. Good luck.

Edit>> Nex aren't so hot... the spring rates aren't adjustable, the shock rates aren't adjustable, only the ride height. Bad times. A GC and Koni setup owns the sub-2000 dollar suspension on auto x days. The wisemen at DSMtuners have more to say on that. Or bitch about, really
