Blown,tranny,clutch,and engine

I had my car for one year allmost excatly it was a rs 95 eclipse with alot of mods done too the car I but nothing mechanical. i bought it at 75,000 miles and sold it at 87,000 miles so ver low miles for a mitsu. I had no problems with the tranny or clutch no slipping grinding or anything of that sort I never even had any issues with the engine at all in the year I owned it. I sold the car to a kid who was getting his liscense the next day he had never even drivin a stick b4 and planned to learn on my car. he recived his DL and the next night (less then 24 hours after his first time driving a stick) was going up a hill when the engine "blew up". the explosion was of such magnitude that something (im assuming the pistons) came flying through the hood of the car!!! I want too know if there is any way this could have been my fault! I never missed an oil change and took amazing care of the car and yet it took him under 48 hours too destroy it! could this possibley be caused by a inexperinced driver hitting the redline toomuch? or is it possible that I somehow am responsible for this. I am in tottal shock and am worried he might try too push the blame on me?!?!?! help!! any sugestions or advice would be greatly appriciated

Re: Blown,tranny,clutch,and engine

No. It isn't your fault. But the way we sue in the USA, it is in someway, shape, form, or fashion.

But no it shouldn't be your fault. That kid just experienced the reason why you should have some idea before trying to learn on your first 5-speed. Also the kid prolly downshifted his ass off and red-lined his ears off. You should be able to tell by the blown clutch (not shifting properly), tranny(not gear changing properly),then engine (heat kills).
